『さよならの朝に約束の花をかざろう』公式美術画集
Like the artbook for P.A. Works’ 2018 feature film『Maquia: When the Promised Flower Blooms』, the background artbook thereof was also published by Genkosha (玄光社) with very similar printing quality.
This beautiful artbook of over 200 pages is packed with full-page colourful background arts used in the production, together with grayscale concept arts for many given environments. The visual style permeating in these background arts is very quintessential of the art director Kazuki Higashiji (東地和生), who as always produces breathtaking scenery of stunning visual quality.
The book ends with 3 interviews with the director Mari Okada (岡田麿里), the art director Kazuki Higashiji (東地和生), and the environment concept artist Tomoaki Okada (岡田有章).
On a side note, I don’t know if it was purposely done, or if it was an editing mistake: the interior of the palais was included twice on p.113 and p.159. This location is virtually shot from the same angle, with nearly identical lighting condition barren on one particular small spot.
