『神様になった日』メモリアルブック
This is a compact all-in-one artbook plus fanbook for P.A. Works’ 2020 animated TV series『The Day I Became a God』developed in collaboration with Jun Maeda (麻枝准) and Na-Ga from the visual novel brand Key. It’s printed on a fairly lightweight coated paper; this makes the whole book of 80 pages rather meagre in look and touch.
The first 30 pages are devoted to the presentation of characters, showing both colour scheme and line art of facial expressions. Then 10 pages of prop design follow, and 18 pages showcasing background art without line art or concept sketch.
The book also includes 2 interviews with the director Yoshiyuki Asai (浅井義之) and the chief animation supervisor Nii Manabu (仁井学); illustrated messages to the readers by production staff, and 4 pages of corrected keyframe animations drawn by the chief animation supervisor.
The downside of this artbook is that some of the images are rather small but still visible enough.
