『未来のミライ』Artbook

Following the artbooks for『Wolf Children』and『The Boy and the Beast』, Kadokawa Shoten assumed for the 3rd time the responsibility of publishing the artbook for Mamoru Hosoda’s animated film: this time, for『Mirai』 released in 2018. The book format is very similar to the previous ones: monochrome sections in which texts abound are inserted in between colour sections that show primarily images.

Between 3 sections of colourful background arts are inserted the following monochrome sections: (1) character design and interviews with animation supervisor and animators; (2) environment design, interviews with the art directors and background artists, prop design, and layout selection.

As usual, the artbook ends with colour design, in-depth analysis of 3D / CG techniques used in the film, and interviews with other production staff including the director.
