『Charlotte』設定資料集
This artbook for the 2015 TV anime series『Charlotte』which is the second original anime conceived by Key and produced by P.A. Works following『Angel Beats!』in 2010, is entirely printed in colour on heavyweight coated paper. About 3/4 of it is dedicated to visual art development, while the remaining 1/4 of it to interviews and ending credits.
The book opens with 85 pages of character design that includes both line art and colour scheme. Then in the 54 pages that follow, readers will see background art used in the production printed in medium to large size (relative to other artbooks by P.A. Works) before seeing the environment line art that runs sometimes small (especially the 3D isometric models). The design section ends with 23 pages of prop design.
In the text section, readers will find a first interview with Jun Maeda (麻枝准) who conceived the story and Na-Ga who designed the characters, both of them coming from the visual novel brand Key. Then interviews with other staff members from P.A. Works follow: including the interviews with chief animation supervisors such as Kanami Sekiguchi (関口可奈味), the director Yoshiyuki Asai (浅井義之), the art director (東地和生), etc.
