『Free!-Dive to the Future-』Storyboard vol. 1-3

For the 3rd season of the『Free!』franchise, Kyoto Animation has published 3 volumes of complete storyboard. The A4 format is quite large, each page consists of 4 panels of storyboards. It can be confusing at first how to navigate within a page. It should be read in a ‘Z’ fashion: start from the top left panel, then navigate to the top right, the bottom left, and lastly the bottom right panel.

These storyboards were drawn by some of Kyoani’s most important artists, including Yasuhiro Takemoto (武本康弘, 1972-2019), Tatsuya Ishihara (石原立也), Naoko Yamada (山田尚子), etc. This set of storyboards also allow readers to compare each artist’s drawing style.
